Fruit Roll-Ups
I enjoy fruit roll-ups...but of course I never buy them b/c they are such a waste of money and just add lots and lots of sugar to the diet. I got pretty excited when I saw tons of posts about homemade fruit roll-ups. My mom used to made them all the time when we were kids, and we gobbled them up like candy. So I decided to give them a try. I have a huge food dryer in my basement, so I figured I'd put it to good use!
All I did was blend strawberries with a little agave nectar, pour it onto a few pieces of lightly greased parchment paper (on cookie sheets), and throw them in the food dryer overnight (8-12 hours depending on thickness). The next morning I rolled up the parchment paper and cut them into whatever sizes I wanted. EASY!
Already dried (forgot before pix)
It rolled off easily!
Then I just cut them up and stuck them in a Ziploc bag!
These were a good little snack. Mine were a little thin, so I think next time I'll try to make them a little thicker.
I got the recipe from this site:
